Mud Hens Update

Our rain out game against the Giants has been rescheduled for this coming Saturday, May 12^th at 6:00. Be there by 5:15. Same field as before..

Every year, each team is responsible for covering one shift of concessions at White Park. The Mud Hens date is Thursday, May 17^th. I will need 4 Mud Hens Parent volunteers to help run concessions. It is pretty fun and a good experience. You will typically need to be there by 5:15 and done by 8:00. Please let me know if you can help by the end of this week. If I do not get volunteers, I will assign parents to help. Thanks for helping, let me know.

Each Mud Hens player has received Raffle Tickets equal in value to the cost of the league’s registration fee, minus $10. These tickets were included in your registration fee. You therefore have the choice of filling out the stub with your own name (or mine, lol) and turning it in or you can sell the tickets, turn in the stubs and keep the money yourself. Either way, turn in the completed stubs, but do not turn in the money! You should turn in the completed stubs at White Park concession stand any time that it is open prior to the drawing date.

Pictures are this Monday, May 7^th at 5:30. Please be on time at our normal 5:15. Make sure you have your form completed for pictures with clean uniforms and big smiles.

Mud Hens Reminder

I hope you are well. Tonight’s scrimmage went relatively smooth. I see the potential and the boys should have a pretty good season. I could tell we were a little rusty after the long break. Our first game is coming quickly and I feel we need to catch up a little. We will be practicing at OLMC this Friday from 5:30 to 7:00 as I told the boys. This will be our only Friday practice since games start next week. We will also be having a one hour practice at Maple Grove on Secor on this Sunday. I am shooting for around 2:00. I will rent the cage for an hour. I will confirm the time tomorrow and let you all know. I ask that each player bring $2.00 to help with the cost of the cage. Wednesday scrimmage again against the Cardinals and then our first game Friday…

Schedule Update

The season is moving forward and the boys are getting there. I have attached the game schedule for your records. All games start at 6:00 except the night games. Each player will be required to be there 45 minutes early (5:15 or 7:30 for night games (2)). Just and FYI that practices are mandatory and could affect playing time, unless excused absence.

Next week is Bedford’s spring break and we will not have practice. Starting the following week, April 18^th, we will go to two practices until out first game. Practices will be Wednesday and Friday at 5:30 at OLMC. Coach Krupp and I are trying to set a scrimmage for the first week back from Spring Break. Since there is such a gap between our next practice, we have commissioned the boys to make at least two trips to Maple Grove batting cages (Minimum $2.00 worth of balls in Cage #5, Pee Wee). In addition, please throw the ball with a parent, sibling or friend to work on the skills that have been taught.

Please remember to have the boys wear cleats, cups and long pants to practice. I also took a pole on how many kids have their own batting helmets (most do), please be sure that they have a cage on the front of their helmet (dicks carries them) or they cannot use it. Since so many kids already have helmets, I will not be getting any from the league. One less thing to carry. If they do not have one, I am sure someone will share..Thanks again. First Practice / Meet the Team / Parent Meeting

I hope you are well and enjoying the unusually warm weather. With that being said, weather will be hit and miss for the next couple of weeks. Therefore, I am going to take advantage of this week’s “hit”. It is supposed to be 70 and sunny on Wednesday. I am going to have a meet the team, mandatory parent meeting and small practice this Wednesday at Mount Carmel on Lewis. We will go from 5:30 to 7:00 Sharp. I would prefer that both parents be there just so we can go over some things. I understand if both can’t, but prefer. I look forward to meeting all of you. Have a great Monday. Welcome 2012 MudHens

I hope you are well. Welcome to the 2012 Mud Hens Pee Wee baseball team. I am coach KK and look forward to working with your boys this year. I will use the website for updates, stats and other information (Please check it regularly).

Reminder: Uniform sizing will be held on March 6th and 7th at Bedford Junior High Cafeteria from 6PM to 9PM. Please make it a priority to be there one of those two days.

Our practices will be on Wednesdays at Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Lewis Avenue in Temperance from 5:30 to 7:00ish:730. We may do some indoor work before the weather breaks and will keep you updated as we work this out. Wednesdays will always be our practice day, but may add a weekend or another day during the week pending weather. As you all know weather dictates a lot. Once the first game starts, we will only practice on Wednesdays unless we need some Batting Practice at Maple Grove. Again, all subject to change. I know how busy all of us are and want to make it as easy as possible on everyone, while still targeting improvement.
